About This Course

Communication and Expression Skills (TCE – English) is designed for first-year Agronomy Engineering students to strengthen their English language skills in academic, scientific, and professional contexts. The course introduces students to scientific and technical vocabulary, including word roots, prefixes, suffixes, and word families, with examples related to agronomy. It also focuses on scientific text reading and analysis, helping students understand text organization, apply reading strategies, and identify the main sections of research articles, particularly the IMRaD structure (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion).

In addition, the course develops practical written communication skills required in academic and professional settings. Students will learn how to write professional emails, prepare a curriculum vitae (CV), and draft a motivation letter. These activities aim to improve clarity, accuracy, and the appropriate use of English in different communication situations.

By the end of the course, students will have developed a stronger foundation in scientific English, improved their ability to read and understand scientific texts, and acquired essential skills for preparing professional documents and communicating effectively in academic and workplace environments.
